"Go therefore and make disciples..." Matthew 28:19

OUR MISSION

Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations,

baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (evangelism).

Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you (discipleship).

Matthew 28:19-20

dis·ci·ple:

Someone who has surrendered their life to Jesus,
and is growing to live and love like Him
while leading others to do the same.

HOW WE GROW

“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”  John 15:5

We “remain” or “abide” with Jesus by the power and  guidance of Holy Spirit through:

TRUTH

SPIRITUAL PRACTICES

COMMUNITY

We grow by reading, hearing, praying, studying, meditating, and memorizing God’s Word. In order to grow, we need to know what’s true and what’s not true. The ultimate truth comes to us in Jesus. He said, “I am The Way, The Truth and The Life,” and that “the truth will set you free."
And while truth is necessary for change, we must move truth from our minds into what we do with our bodies. And that’s why we need practices! A “Spiritual Practice” is any regular and intentional activity that develops and nourishes our relationship with Jesus, and helps us to love and live as Jesus did.
We grow when we are eating and drinking, sharing, confessing, encouraging, serving, and training with others who are following Jesus because we are hardwired for community. We have been made in God’s own image, who Himself is a community of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

OUR DISCIPLESHIP MODEL

The Bible provides us with a number of different images of the church (body, bride, family, etc.). While each picture helps us to appreciate different aspects of the church, the image of the church as an army, helps us to describe our discipleship model.
