MEET YOUR GOKIDS LEADERS
Kody Rogers
Family Ministries Director
Kody oversees our GoKids (nursery to 5th grade) and Student (6th-12th grade) ministries, which includes partnering with parents/guardians/grandparents in order to equip and empower them to lead their children to grow as disciples of Jesus. Kody obtained his bachelors of science degree in criminal justice dedicating a decades worth of service to his community as a police officer in Lemoore and Monterey. His experiences on the force, where he witnessed both the challenges and triumphs of the human spirit, lead to a deeper relationship and appreciation for the grace and love of God. Kody, his wife Paula, and two daughters Gianna and Eliana can often be found exploring the Monterey Peninsula with its many beaches and trails.
Heather Cox, Jooeun ("June") Kim, Christian Menke & Paula Rogers
GoKids Directors
Meet our amazing GoKids Directors! Christian, Heather, June and Paula alternate leading the Sunday morning GoKids gatherings (held at our 401 Alvarado Street building called “Go City”). This shared leadership model allows more people to lead, provides for a diversity of perspectives and input regarding our children's ministries, while also ensuring that all team members are able to participate in the adult worship gathering most Sundays each month.
Christian is one of the Directors of Go Kids at Monterey Church, where she has been a member since 2024. Growing up in Salinas, Christian’s fond childhood memories of church inspire her passion for helping kids grow in their faith. She and her husband, Nate, have two teenage children, Vivian and David. Christian is passionate about fostering greater parent involvement in children’s ministry and creating meaningful connections between “Big Church” and kids’ church to ensure God remains central throughout their lives. In her free time, she enjoys staying active with CrossFit, immersing herself in a good book, and cherishing moments with friends and family.
Heather Cox is a Monterey Peninsula native with a background in healthcare. Inspired by her two little blessings, she felt called to serve in the children’s ministry. Heather is dedicated to being the best child of God, wife, and mom she can be and considers it a privilege to help guide children toward the Lord.
Paula serves as a director at Monterey Church, where she leads alongside her husband, Kody. After moving to the Monterey area, Paula and Kody quickly found their home at Monterey Church, embracing the community. With a foundation of ministry experience from her time serving in the Central Valley, she is passionate about helping children grow to love and live like Jesus. In her free time, Paula enjoys sunset walks along the beautiful Monterey coastline, scouting out new places for dinner, and capturing moments through her love of photography. She considers it a joy and privilege to walk alongside families in nurturing the next generation of Christ-followers.
Jooeun “June” Kim is originally from Seoul, South Korea. After graduating from Kennesaw State University in Georgia, she achieved a master’s degree in Teaching Foreign Language (TFL) at Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey (MIIS). As she grows in her career in education, she continues to learn more of God’s heart for His children everyday. She likes watching sunsets at the beach, drinking coffee and obviously, eating Korean food.

CHILD DEDICATION
