STUDENT MINISTRIES DIRECTOR

Description:

This is a part-time position for Monterey Church. The primary responsibilities of this role is to provide the direction, leadership, creation/refinement and oversight of all student ministry (Middle & High School) at Monterey Church. This includes weekend services, weekly events/small group meetings, outreach events, volunteer opportunities, and other special events such as youth trips, camps, conferences, etc.

General Responsibilities:
  • Look at every Monterey Church event, gathering or function through the lens of a student and bring that perspective to Leadership’s ministry planning and implementation meetings.
  • Overall development/selection and implementation of a discipleship strategy (including curriculum) for leading students into a deeper understanding and love for God and His Word, and a desire to live a life marked by His love and grace. Track students decisions to follow Jesus, get baptized, and grow in discipleship
  • Regularly communicate and periodically meet with parents. Work with Monterey Church Leadership Team to implement the Orange strategy and other strategies that are aimed at equipping parents to better fulfill their role as the primary spiritual leaders of their children and to assist parents in the spiritual formation of children within the home (i.e. parenting conferences, parenting resources, etc.).
  • Recruit, train and disciple volunteers. Ensure that proper screening of all volunteers occurs and volunteer requirements/guidelines are established and maintained. Schedule all needed volunteers using Planning Center Online.
  • Oversee and be responsible for budgets and administration for the student ministries.

  • Experience in leading and developing people and teams
  • Self-motivated, innovative and works well with others on a team
  • Experience with leading students and volunteers 
  • Willingness and desire to always be learning/growing/experimenting with new skills/digital platforms

Compensation:
$20 per hour

Hours per week:
Approximately 20 hours per week (Sundays are mandatory).

Immediately
